it is currently 9 at night and i am restless, but for only good things ! i just finished my first day of senior year and it was pretty good i would say, i love my teachers and i’m excited for the things to come ! as i sat here ready for bed i was just overflowing with praise to the Lord. every few minutes i found myself saying “thank you Jesus” and “God is so good !”. i really thought i was going crazy with all the energy i had but then it hit me, i am just so joyful ! the Lord really has been so good and it deserves to be praised and mentioned !
recently in small groups and tribes (its a thing at my church) we have been talking a lot about the difference between happiness and joy. trust me, they are SO different. happiness is jumping up and down because you got a good grade, joy is thanking Jesus for all the blessings even though you sit in the middle of a storm. both you can see a bursting from the heart, but only one is everlasting !
in the bible it never talks about the “happiness” of the Lord, but I assure you it does about the JOY of the Lord ! and this joy brings us strength on even the darkest of days and in the deepest of valleys. joy will overflow in your life if you cling to it, SO CLING TO IT PEOPLE !!
stay true to Jesus and have a joyful heart. sing His praises even in the middle of the storm. thanks for listening and hope you enjoyed reading this quick blog about my heart in this season !
