hey ! hey ! hey !
it’s just about time for the always infamous, ‘what’s next?’ announcement that comes around more often than not in my life:
two years ago i graduated high school and have traveled since then with two gap year programs under adventures in missions. my feet have been planted for no longer than 3 months at a time in central america, africa, & different parts of the states.
life has been kindly decorated with community living, daily ministry, constant revival, & even sweet, slow, mundane moments.
now as i step off the field i hear the question of ‘where are you off too now?’ from left & right.
this life on ‘the field’ with 18-21 year olds has taught me more than enough about passion, wrestling with God, worship, sharing the gospel within a cultural context, how to live in community well, when to share hard feedback, loving without thought of return, & way way more.
i’ve now reached a point where i’m ready to not only be exposed to what the Lord has for me, but to cultivate my character and person to walk out the rest of my life for the kingdom more maturely & equipped for the things ahead.
all that being said, i’m doing a discipleship program!
it’s called center for global action (CGA)!
and i’m really excited for the things to come 🙂
CGA is a 5-month program (august -december 2022) within adventures in mission for world race alumni (that’s me!). the program has a heart to see those coming off the field take all they have seen, heard, learned, & experienced and create a space of healing, uprooting, and cultivation of oneself.
know yourself. lead yourself. lead others.
the hope is that people walk out of the program better equipped to do what they love, for the kingdom, and to do it really well having understood more deeply who they are and what the Lord has spoken over their lives.
all participants live in gainesville, georgia and take classes on base 5 days a week! while being a part of a class i will also be taking on a job in the community, and living with other women in the program. each week we will take on different topics in/out side the classroom through discussion and personal processing time.
i wish i could write in words all that is ahead for me but i’m sure anything i can come up with will only be a glimpse of all that the Lord truly wants to do in and through me during this next season.
i’ve been the MOST grateful for the constant support i’ve had the honor of receiving these past years – whether it be financially through consistent donations or in prayer over every day out of the country! i have felt the power of community in a new way because of not only the people i’ve lived with or discipled but because of the love i’ve experienced from each of you! all i can say is THANK YOU ! not a day has gone unseen by me or the Lord!
as i step into yet another season under the leadership of adventures in missions, i am also under taking yet another season of fundraising – woo ! it’s easy go feel redundant and almost repetitive with each ask and invitation, but if anything i have learned that the call on my life to continue forward with missions is far from those things. this is not a life of repetition or mundane. it’s a life laid out for the kingdom of God.
my upcoming semester will cost $5,950 in order to cover all living expenses (outside of food and personal tings) and classes.
at first, the thought of support raising for something that WASN’T international travel or a classic ‘mission trip’ was terrifying. how do people feel the call or motivation if you aren’t doing… missions?
the more i sit on this the more i realize how wrong i am in my perspective. this new step is one into deeper intimacy with God, and further equipping for the rest of my LIFE in missions. how many missionaries do we all know that are burn out, aching to come home, or have never taken the step to build themselves up to actually do missions without harm or find themselves unable to contribute to long-term effect.
while cga isn’t the answer, it’s the right road for me personally in order to effectively and healthily live out more of my life – in america or overseas – in a way that is honoring to the Lord and empowering to communities.
i say all this because i am looking for donors again. monthly, one time, $50, $1,000. whatever you can sow into this upcoming season is one that is honoring to the Lord and not a waste.
if you are at all interested in supporting me – in any and all ways – i would love to connect with you and discuss alllll the things! truly!
right now i am seeking a handful of about 20 MONTHLY donors (for the duration of 6 months). This can be a monthly $10, or $200 – whatever the Lord has asked! the easiest way to become a monthly (or one-time) donor is through the donation link at the top of my blog. under your donation amount you can select a monthly option!
i can also receive donations through venmo – gretchenwaters and paypal – [email protected]. message me if you would like to discuss cash/check payments 🙂
all in all. i’m more than expectant of all that is in store. i’m grateful for you! and grateful to the Lord! good things on the way for us all! glory to glory!
you are AWESOME ! keep in touch 🙂
